Series Wound DC Motor Controllers

Navitas has three (3) lines of motor controllers for series wound motors. The TSE, CTL, and TSP lines of series wound DC motor controllers are perfect for systems requiring peak currents from 100A to 1000A and system voltages from 12VDC to 96VDC.

TSE Line

TSE Series Wound DC Motor Controller
Navitas' TSE line of series wound DC motor controllers are able to fully integrate vehicle logic, offering OEMs the ability to customize vehicle behaviour to suit their application. Here are just some of the many features the TSE line has to offer:

  • Power up diagnostics and safe sequencing to prevent unsafe controller operation if the key is turned on while the throttle is applied.
  • Adjustable top speed for both forward and reverse.
  • Adjustable plugging to allow smooth start, stop, and speed reduction function and improve overall performance.
  • Factory sealed, factory serviceable anodized aluminum housing to ensure protection from the environment.
  • Over temperature protection to prevent damage under virtually any thermal conditions.
  • Static Return to Off (i.e., SRO or "Dead-man Switch" ) that prevents controller operation if the key switch is turned on while in forward or reverse mode, and operator is not in a safe position on the vehicle.
  • Battery Discharge Interlock (BDI) preserves the battery by limiting to a slow run speed.

These and many other options are programmable with the ProBit (PB200-00), Navitas Technologies' handheld menu-based programmer (sold separately).

CTL Line

CTL Series Wound Motor Controller
The CTL line of series wound DC motor controllers includes drop-in replacement controllers for many of the motor controllers that use the 1204/1205 style footprint. The CTL line is available for system voltages ranging from 12VDC to 48VDC with peak currents ranging from 275A to 600A. The CTL controller offers the following features:

  • Maximum current limit that can be turned down from factory preset for additional control over the current.
  • Environmental protection ensured with factory sealed, factory serviceable anodized aluminum housing.
  • Power up diagnostics and safe sequencing to prevent unsafe controller operation if the key is turned on while the throttle is applied.
  • Over temperature protection to prevent damage under virtually any thermal conditions.
  • Emergency reverse (belly button switch) functionality for applications like electric pallet jacks.
  • Adjustable plugging offers additional control over the smoothness of transition into reverse.
  • Adjustable acceleration rate provides another level of vehicle control.

TSP Line

TSP Series Wound Motor Controller
The TSP line of series wound motor controllers are the perfect solution in a small package for applications requiring minimal vehicle logic. The TSP100 is also fully potted to ensure extra environmental protection. Features include:

  • Safe sequencing to prevent unsafe controller operation if key switch is turned on while throttle is applied.
  • Over temperature protection to prevent damage under virtually any thermal conditions.
  • Environmental protection ensured with factory sealed, factory serviceable anodized aluminum housing.
  • TSP100-36 is fully potted for additional environmental protection.
